Artists of Festival of High Temperatures 2015 – Kazimierz Pawlak

Kazimierz Pawlak (born 1957) works in the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass at the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław.

He graduated from the studio of prof. Zbigniew Horbowy and he majored in the field of art glassmaking (1982). Academic professor since 1998, dean of the Faculty of Ceremics and Glass at the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław (1996-2002), director of the Department of Glass (1993-1996). He is a renowned glass artist in Poland and abroad; a board member of the Association of Polish Artists. He has taken part in more than 160 exhibitions in Poland and abroad (Japan, Germany, France, USA). He has participated in 24 international glass symposia, a triple juror in international exhibitions. He received the scholarship of the Ministry of art and culture in the Czech Republic in 1988, the art scholarship in Creative Glass Center of America in Millville, New Jersey (1994), an art residency in the glass studio of the Morin family in Dieulefit in France (1998). He was honoured with the Medal of Merit for the Polish Culture in 2011.
