Artists of the 12th Festival – Noah Kirby

Noah Kirby, a sculptor and active member of the art iron casting community, will lead a scratchblock workshop for the festival audience followed by an iron pour from a small cupola furnace.

During the festival conference the artist will present his lecture titled: „Art and Industry Partnerships”.

Noah Kirby has participated in, taught workshops at, organized and/or coordinated numerous conferences and casting events over the years. He has Co-Chaired the National Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art and Practices at Sloss Furnaces National Historic Monument. Noah has served on the steering committee of the International Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art. He is currently a standing committee member of the Western Cast Iron Art Alliance. As the founding co-director of Six Mile Sculptureworks in Granite City Illinois he works to build opportunities for artists through industrial partnerships in his community. Noah produces both public and private commission work and is currently Artist-in-Residence for America’s Central Port Authority in Granite City IL. He shows across the nation in outdoor and gallery exhibitions. Noah Kirby earned his BFA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1998. He earned his Masters degree from Washington University in 2000. He currently serves as Senior Lecturer in Sculpture at Washington University where he teaches Public Art, Blacksmithing, Foundry, and Design Foundations.
