Martin Janecki began his glass career in his hometown Nowy Bor in The Czech Republic at a very early age. He was 13 years old when he started to educate himself in the glassworker profession. Next, he was educated at Secondary Art Glass School. He quickly gained recognition in the world of glass. At the age of 20 he was hired by many artists from around the world to help them and to perform specific jobs. He worked as a gaffer and assistant i.e. for William Morris. He was also an instructor in Pilchuk Glass School in USA. He is an artist who constantly rediscovers the magic of glass. His works are an excellent example of what can be done when you join skills with passion.

There will be a unique opportunity to watch Martin Janecky at work during the the show of smelting techniques of forming glass on Saturday between 16.00 and 20.00  and on SUnday between 13.00-18.00 at the The Academy of Fine Arts and Design at 19/21 Traugutta Street.
