Artists of the 11th Festival – Monika Patuszyńska
Monika Patuszyńska is another guest of the ceramic section. This artist will try to combine two sections of the Festival: glass and ceramics.
She will make a plaster mould without by carving directly with a hammer and a saw in a plaster block. The same mould will be used both for casting porcelain and glassblowing. Glass will also appear as the element connecting the mismatched pieces and porcelain waste. All the stages of both experiments will be conducted in front of the festival's audience during the two Festival days. Unity Monika Patuszyńska Saturday, 16.00-19.00 (New Building, 2nd Floor / 206) Sunday, 16.00-18.00 (New Building, ground floor / 007 and New Building, 2nd Floor / 206) Monika Patuszyńska graduated from the Ceramics and Glass Department of the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław in 1999. In the years 2008-2013 she was the president of The International Ceramic Symposium "Other Faces of Ceramics", in 2014-2016 she was the director of the Artistic Institute of Design in Kielce, and since 2009 she has been a member of the International Academy of Ceramics in Geneva. Since 2014 she has worked in the School of Form in Poznań. She has been twice awarded the Art Scholarship of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and many other awards e.g. Master Prize, Prix Europeen des Arts Appliques in Mons/ Belgium, Prox de Ville de Vallauris, XXIIème Biennale Internationale de Vallauris in France Honorable Mention Award, 1st China Kaolin Grand Prix w Jingdezhen in China. She has taken part in many solo and group exhibitions. She has lectured on ceramics and taken part in workshops in many renowned ceramic centers.
