Artists of FHT 2016 – Michał Staszczak

Curator of the metal section of the Festival of High Temperatures 2016

Michał Staszczak (born 1979) – an assistant professor at the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław in the Studio of Medals and Small Sculpture and in the Casting Studio. The only artist in Poland who builds foundry furnaces himself and casts his works using them. He has organized many casting workshops – iron, bronze, aluminium and he has constructed many furnaces. He writes and lectures about his work in high temperatures and presents his works during exhibitions in Poland and abroad. His assemblage works are in private and public collections. He was a co-founder and has been an organizer of Festival of High Temperatures since 2007 (the first edition).
